Someday, I wish my website to look like this blank VHS tape cover. It shall be very colorful and, if the performance allows it, there shall be very high resolution rock textures and shiny logos everywhere. (very important)
What a great movie Safe House (1998) is. A hidden gem if you will. The portrayal of alzheimers in particular I found very convincing --for the lack of a better expression. The movie reminded me of Rain Man in a way, which is another favorite of mine. Very fun, very rewatchable, I should get a DVD of it.
The soundtrack especially was surprisingly memorable. Take a listen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yq_nhQTLtU&list=OLAK5uy_lrglCzfMleywqiBC-gUdA_pHN8kTPMnRo "Closet / Throws Away Pills / Grabs Food Tray" gives a good overview if you don't feel like listening to the full soundtrack.
There's a certain appeal to characters which have life or living itself as their sadness instead of a "defining event".
Everyone F**king Dies The Movie
This is the second part of my disaster movie two parter, which will be about the film Knowing. This time, my ramblings don't go off on unrelated tangents (as much) anymore and are mostly related to the movie, its pitfalls, and what could have been.
Deep Impact and the Commodification of Tragedy
I go off on unrelated tangents to the movie about where the fascination for watching the world end comes from and what the business side of selling tragedy is and has become.
